1. Say hello to the sea lions at Fisherman’s Wharf
Pier 39 is your go-to destination for all things sea lions and waterfront dining. Enjoy a warm bowl of clam chowder while admiring an abundance of street performers and musicians.
2. Take a walk over the Golden Gate Bridge
Bike, walk, or take a bus tour over the Golden Gate Bridge for stunning views of the San Francisco skyline. Make sure to bring a jacket as it tends to be cold and windy.
3. Shop ’til you drop in Union Square
Union Square is home to all your favorite stores and brands. Grab dinner while you’re at it at one of the many outdoor restaurants on the square.
4. Ride in a cable car
You’ve seen them in movies, now experience them in real life. Cable cars are a fun and efficient way to maneuver around the city. If you decide to stand, make sure to hold on tight.
5. Visit the Exploratorium
After Dark Thursday at the Exploratorium provides adults (18+) an opportunity to explore thought-provoking, hands-on exhibits. Grab dinner and unwind by the Bay.
6. Make your way out to Alcatraz Island
In need of a history lesson? Get a close-up view of the first lighthouse and U.S. built fort on Alcatraz Island. The island—also known as the Rock—was also home to some of America’s most dangerous felons, including Al Capone and Robert Stroud.
7. Tour AT&T Park
See what goes on behind the scenes at AT&T Park. Take a tour through the stadium and see the reporter’s press box, luxurious suites, and experience breathtaking views of the bay. If you haven’t already, sign up for the AT&T media tour.
